New VDSL2 specification to clear way for multichannel HD via DSL

published The International Telecommunications Union has unveiled its DSL specification for very-high-bit-rate digital subscriber line 2 (VDSL2).
Know as ITU-T (G.933.2), the specification will support high speed Internet access of up to symmetrical 100Mb/s (up and down stream) for applications such as multichannel HDTV, video on demand, videoconferencing, and VoIP, using the existing copper telephone line infrastructure.
VDSL2 will integrate readily into legacy and next generation telecommunication networks.
