NET controls network with ILC's MaxView

Nebraska Educational Telecommunications (NET) has selected ILC's MaxView network control software to expand the monitoring, management and control of its network.

NET services statewide public television and radio networks, multiple synchronous and asynchronous distance learning systems and operates the state's teleconference network. The organization encompasses units of the State of Nebraska and the University of Nebraska.

NET currently uses MaxView to automate the control of its satellite system. Now it will use MaxView to monitor and control nine terrestrial broadcast transmitter sites located throughout the state of Nebraska. This project marks the latest phase in a NET initiative to control its entire hybrid network with one monitor and control (M&C) system.

ILC's MaxView Suite automates recovery from failures and day-to-day activities, enables provisions and configures network resources. It can reside on a single computer or be distributed throughout a large, distributed network. The basic system can manage thousands of network elements, and communications servers for equipment in different locations. Elements can be added at any time. Operators can have an unlimited number of stations by adding graphics servers, which can connect to the system over LAN, WAN, dial-up connection or Internet connection.
