NeoMagic and Innofidei have demonstrated a joint mobile TV solution based on the CMMB (China Multimedia Mobile Broadcasting) standard that makes mobile TV reception more affordable for a wider pool of Chinese mobile users.
NeoMagic’s multimedia processor and Innofidei’s IF101 demodulator/tuner chip together enable high-quality mobile TV at very low power consumption — just right for portable applications. The two-chip solution works with mobile phones, personal multimedia players, GPS navigation devices and stand-alone mobile TV players.
NeoMagic supports implementations with the NeoMobileTV coprocessor for easy integration into a feature phone or a device with an existing host processor. It also supports the MiMagic 8 application processor for smartphones and stand-alone mobile televisions.
NeoMagic's MiMagic 8, NeoMobileTV and the IF101 from Innofidei are available now. The companies’ joint CMMB mobile TV solution, reference design schematics and software are currently available for demonstration.
