NEC unveils 10 new projectors and plasmas

NEC recently unveiled 10 next-generation portable and installed projectors and plasmas for use by customers in a myriad of commercial applications.

In its projector line, NEC is introducing four new models to its VT series of high-performance portable projectors. The VT47, VT470, VT570 and VT670 – each of which represents an update to an existing model – offer faster projector set-up and display with images displayed in under 10 seconds after turning on power, plus lower cost of operation – less than 10 cents an hour to operate the lamp.

In addition, the new models operate quietly and feature new high-end home theater projector-like design and color and clarity enhancements.

NEC is also introducing the MT1075 installation projector, a companion for the company's MT1065 model. The MT1075 features a unique image sensor integrated inside the projector that detects the display area (screen or wall) so the image can be adjusted automatically with the touch of a button for squareness, focus and to account for the background wall or screen color.

In its plasma line, NEC released next-generation versions of its five PlasmaSyncR commercial plasma products: the XGA (high-resolution) 42XM3, 50XM4 and 61XM3 and the VGA (low-resolution) 42VP5 (with an anti-glare filter) and 42VM5 (with an anti-reflective filter). These commercial plasma products feature brightness and contrast for environments with uncontrolled ambient lighting, lower power consumption, built-in matrixing for multi-screen displays – up to 5x5 matrix can be set up without the need of an external processor – and enhanced split screen functionality.

All of NEC’s new projectors and plasmas will be available this summer.
