“Over the past thirteen months, the Media Distribution Services organization has taken several steps toward creating and implementing an enterprise-wide distribution platform that will enable NBC Universal to prepare, repurpose and distribute content efficiently across all platforms,” said Trombley. “As we continue to build our platform, we are committed to maintaining efficient and reliable on-air continuity. To that end, I am pleased to announce that Matt will be transitioning from Local Media through year end and joining Media Distribution Services full time in January 2009.”

Braatz will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations for all domestic on-air operations, as well as developing and implementing an operational and technical strategy across the company’s on-air operations organizations including the Cable Network Origination Center, the Network Broadcast Operations Center, Local Media Hub Operations, and Media Operations Group.

Braatz has served as senior vice president for Technology and Operations for Local Media, where he led the engineering, operations, IT and technology efforts for NBC Universal's O&Os.

He has held other key positions within NBCU, and prior to joining held positions in Washington, D.C., and Houston with Belo Television Stations.
