National TeleConsultants Devises Workflow for QUEST Science Series

National TeleConsultants has put together a workflow plan to optimize production of San Francisco's PBS member station KQED's "QUEST" science series.

The QUEST series is the largest multiple-media presentation in the history of KQED and goes beyond being a traditional television series.

"We decided it was time for us to think big here at KQED and figure out a way to incorporate the creativity of all the different platforms that we have at the station," said Jeff Clarke, president and CEO of Northern California Public Broadcasting, KQED's parent corporation. "It's not the first cross-platform project we've done, but the QUEST project is editorially managed and structured differently from any of our other projects. It's the largest project that we've ever done here at KQED that's specifically designed to deliver innovative, original content to our local audience."

The QUEST series is presented on television as a half-hour weekly high-definition presentation, with content also is featured in weekly radio segments, on a Web site and is used in education guides.

National TeleConsultants was selected to devise a workflow plan for the multiplatform production that would fully leverage station high definition tools in connection with the effort.
