By TVTechnology published
National Geographic Channel (NGC) and Fox Networks Group are jointly developing a new NGC HD network. The network is expected to roll out in early 2006 in time to commemorate the channel’s fifth anniversary.
Virtually all of NGC’s current program production is being captured in HD in preparation for the new network. National Geographic Channel also has spent the past year acquiring programming in HD. At launch, more than 90 percent of NGC's primetime programs will be seen in HD on the new network.
