NAB Show: Panasonic Displays Three Multi-format Switchers

Amid the small army of new and upgraded wares in the Panasonic sector this week are three HD/SD switchers—with a couple destined to include a multi-screen (“multiviewer”) display as a standard feature.

The three new products include the AV-HS450, which boasts 16 SD/HD-SDI inputs (standard) with dual on-screen multiviewer output, multiple keyers, PIP, and 3D effects levels. It supports 1080i/59.94, 1080p/24, 1080i/23.98, 720p/59.94, and 480i/59.94. It’s available next fall.

The AV-HS400A is a compact 4-to-8 switcher with an internal 10-window multiviewer preview screen, 10-bit HD processing, optional up and downconverter, and scaling I/O boards. It includes 3D digital effects for video and keyer.

And Panasonic’s third switcher, the AV-HS300G, is the most compact of the trio and provides 5 HD/SD-SDI inputs and 1 DVI-RGB input, as well as 3 HD/SD-SDI outputs, RS-422 control, 12 volts of power, and an internal 10-bit, 6-channel frame synchronizer.

Panasonic is in booths C3712, C3327.
