Motorola, SeaChange To Develop Broadband System Manager
By TVTechnology published
Motorola's Broadband Communications Sector and SeaChange International are developing a Global System Resource Manager (GSRM) that will enable broadband operators to manage the bandwidth and complexity of their interactive digital headends.
The companies will make a GSRM software platform that allows interactive and broadcast applications to use all of the bandwidth on the cable plant under the control of a centralized resource manager. The GSRM will let equipment manufacturers and service providers to share bandwidth on a single pipe for services such as VOD, data, voice over IP, broadcast TV and IP streaming.
