MobiTV has selected GlobeCast to manage critical content ingest operations for MobiTV's delivery of live television programming to North American mobile and broadband platforms.
"By centralizing our channel ingestion, MobiTV is now able to easily ingest and move channels on a global scale across GlobeCast's worldwide network of teleports, satellite capacities and a global fiber ring," MobiTV CTO Kay Johansson said. "Not only do we have more flexibility to scale internationally, we have a secure solution in place that protects our proprietary technology while keeping our partners' content secure."
GlobeCast now provides 24/7 channel ingest for delivery into MobiTV's technology platforms from its teleport and digital broadcast center located in Los Angeles. The company provides satellite services, signal encoding, monitoring and live channel connectivity for MobiTV.
A subsidiary of France Telecom, Globecast transports and manages 10 million hours of video and other rich media each year. GlobeCast operates 15 teleports and technical operations centers worldwide.
