Mobile service firm deploys 150-screen signage network

Spotmedia has developed and deployed a dynamic digital signage network for Mobily, the new mobile service provider in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Mobily, the official brand name of Etihad Etisalat, sought a visual communications tool for its customers as well as an alternative media system. Scala InfoChannel software powers the telecom company’s digital signage network.

Corporately branded as the Mobily Channel, the digital signage network currently runs in 64 locations across Saudi Arabia. Computers power more than 150 display screens via Scala InfoChannel Player software and Scala InfoChannel Network Manager in the respective venues.

A mix of 42in and 71in plasma screens and rear projection video walls positioned at the client service sections broadcast text, video and graphics conveying information on Mobily’s latest products, services and promotions. The Mobily Channel is also integrated with the queuing system of the service centers and scheduling is incorporated to indicate Muslims’ prayer times as well as to display special announcements.

Jeddah-based Spotmedia installed and provided content development to manage the channel, which is controlled centrally from a remote site and deployed via private network. Click Grafix also provides support for creation of customized content for the Mobily Channel. The content is sent to all the networked showrooms and runs in 28.6 minutes loops throughout the day.
