As the NBA’s Miami Heat ushered in the 2009-10 season versus the New York Knicks during the home opener on Wednesday, Oct. 28, fans in attendance at the AmericanAirlines Arena were treated to an upgraded and improved fan experience. Now, they'll have that same captivating experience every night.
This includes new graphics and HD video projected on MiamiMediaMesh in front of AmericanAirlines Arena to the completely rebranded Bacardi Grand Entrance (Gates 1 and 2) and to the Sony HD upgraded arena video displays.
The front of the AmericanAirlines Arena now boasts one of the largest digital LED displays in the Southeast. MiamiMediaMesh was unveiled earlier this year and is an energy-efficient digital media facade, which blends seamlessly with the arena architecture. MiamiMediaMesh covers 3400sq-ft of the Arena’s west face, visible from downtown Miami’s Biscayne Boulevard.
The AmericanAirlines Arena includes a new HD control room with Sony HD cameras, a switcher, recording devices, displays and more than 500 Sony displays throughout the arena. Fans will experience a new, central 9ft by 15ft HD scoreboard and new LED ribbon boards. New HD digital food menu boards will replace static menu boards at the concession stands, offering customizable menu options and specials that can be modified instantly, as well as the ability to offer menus in both English and Spanish.
In addition, the AmericanAirlines Arena upgrade features Sony’s new ZIRIS Web-based software system, which, when combined with the Sony monitors, allows the arena to create high-impact visual displays as well as flexible digital signage systems.
