Media General Standardizes on Leitch's dps

Richmond, Va.-based Media General Broadcasting Group has selected Leitch's dpsVelocityQ and dpsVelocity non-linear editing systems as its editing and graphics platform for new station installations.

MGBG has purchased more than 25 Leitch post production systems, including over 15 turnkey dpsVelocity bundles running on dpsReality hardware for use in graphics workstations. The group's dpsVelocityQ systems are being used in the marketing departments of ten stations to create daily topicals and commercial production.

dpsVelocityQ features real-time playback or four streams of video, up to six graphics streams and four channels of 3D DVE. dpsVelocity has the same software interface running on the dual-stream dpsReality hardware, which targets dual-stream editing and graphics applications. Both are available for Windows 2000 and Windows XP workstation.

Media General, which owns MGBG, has 26 broadcast TV stations that include NBC, CBS, ABC, WB and UPN affiliates and is one of the top 25 largest broadcast groups in the U.S.
