Matrox now offers tight compatibility of its Extio and Axio accelerator product lines. The combination allows the Matrox Extio system to deliver remote setup flexibility, multidisplay graphics and an intuitive, silent work environment for users of the Axio HD and SD editing platforms.
Matrox said the Extio’s multimonitor support, various connectivity options for computer peripherals and fanless design would allow Axio users to edit SD or HD projects and increase their productivity. The set-up also allows the potentially noisy host system to sit outside the editing control room.
Extio is an external multidisplay Remote Graphics Unit that links to the host system through fiber-optic cable at distances of up to 820ft. It can connect up to four digital or analog monitors while providing audio, USB and FireWire connections for user interface peripherals support.
Axio uses Adobe Premiere Pro as a real-time HD and SD editor for broadcast and post-production environments. It features no-render HD and SD finishing in compressed and uncompressed formats, real-time color correction tools and effects and a full complement of analog and digital AV inputs and outputs.
