LIN TV Adds and Shifts Executives
LIN TV added former industry competitors to is board of directors. Doug McCormick, formerly the chairman and CEO o iVillage, and CEO of Lifetime Television before that, is the new nonexecutive chairman of the LIN TV board. Mitchell Stern, former top executive at DirecTV and Fox TV Group, was also elected to the board.
Changes in the senior management team include the exit of long-time LIN lobbyist Greg Schmidt from the Washington beat. Schmidt, vice president and general counsel since 1995, becomes executive vice president of digital media reporting to LIN President and CEO Vince Sadusky.
Scott Blumenthal was promoted to executive vice president of television. He'll oversee operations of the group's 30 stations. Edward Munson will be responsible for all ad sales as the new vice president of station sales. Denise M. Parent takes Schmidt's old spot as vice president and general counsel after serving as vice president and deputy general counsel since 1997.
