Lightworks ships Touch version 2.0 editing

Lightworks’ Touch software upgrade adds new enhancements and improves open integration support, audio functionality and effects handling.

Lightworks' Touch Version 2.0 for its video editing system is now available. The new Touch software upgrade offers new enhancements and improves open integration support, audio functionality and effects handling.

Touch 2.0 offers integration enhancements through its OMF interchange that has been updated to simplify operation and support more and newer devices. Material and metadata interchange with Geevs XT Servers have been upgraded as well, including edit-during-capture. The system also provides improved networking support for multi-seat editing via SharkNET shared storage.

Audio enhancements incorporated in Touch 2.0 include track-based audio level control that is adjustable in a real-time, five-band parametric EQ.

It also features new effects plug-ins such as Adobe After Effects, Sapphire, Tinderbox, Primatte and Boris Continuum. Improved digital fusion and combustion integration enables direct transfer of a Touch timeline into a workspace for advanced effects work. Animated image-key support allows editors to key an image sequence (TGA, TIFF, PNG, etc.) over video output for functions such as station identification.

Touch 2.0’s editing upgrades include a more robust editing engine and feature stripview enhancements with easy-to-use track naming and see-through video black, as well as DVE and keyframing user interface improvements.
