LG Electronics recently announced its latest plasma HD unit (model 50PC1DR) comes with a built-in 160 GB DVR that allows users to pause, rewind and replay live programming in TiVo-like fashion. The DVR also reportedly provides continuous automatic recording in one-hour intervals, according to published reports.
The 50-inch plasma unit, finished in a black and silver frame, includes the South Korean firm's XD Engine technology with what LG Electronics said is six distinct processes to improve brightness, contrast and detail, as well as to minimize color bleed. LG said in a statement earlier this month the new plasma unit delivers 10,000:1 contrast and has a double HDMI connection.
