Leitch hires television industry veteran

Tim Slate, a television industry veteran, has joined Leitch in a new marketing position.

Slate joins Leitch from Omneon Video Networks. At Omneon, Slate was Vice president of marketing. His previous work includes a role at Harris, in which he directed product strategy and priorities for their transmitter product lines including analog, DTV and DVB-T equipment within Harris' broadcast division.

Prior to Harris, Slate was with Tektronix and Grass Valley Group (now Thomson), where he was responsible for the marketing and launch of its Profile videodisk server line. He began his career at Tektronix, where he was a design engineer of operational, test and measurement, and processing television equipment.

Slate holds a BSEE degree from Oregon State University. He will be based out of Leitch's Burbank office.
