KTVT, the CBS affiliate in the Dallas-Ft. Worth market (climbing to DMA no. 5 last week in the latest annual Nielsen rankings) plans to begin local news in 1080i on Sept. 24. The news programming on the station (“CBS 11 News”), along with sister station KTXA (“TXA21”), will premiere with six hours of daily content on weekdays—beginning with local news inserts during morning programming from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m.
Additional public affairs and sports fare such as “The Score with Babe Laufenberg” also will be produced at both stations’ Ft. Worth facilities and aired in HD, the broadcasters said on their joint Website.
The stations are using a temporary news set while construction nears completion on the new HD set.
