KTUZ Taps Comprompter for Automation

Telemundo affiliate KTUZ-TV in Oklahoma City has installed the Comprompter NewsKing news and automation system to bring the first local Spanish TV Newscast to the area.

NewsKing combines a database structure with a point-and-click operation to provide quick access to stories from newscasts, wires, archives and the Internet. NewsKing will also control 2 channels of digital video playout as soon as a new video server system is installed at the station.

Comprompter said the station's owner Tyler Media, selected NewsKing because of the system's simplicity and integrated automation. Tyler Media is a privately owned broadcast group in Oklahoma City that owns five radio stations and one TV station.

"Working with the management and staff of KTUZ has been a real pleasure. Besides being wonderful people, they are really committed and excited about their start-up Spanish Newscast. It served to remind me of how much fun working in Television can be," said Ralph King Comprompter founder and president.
