Former ESPN HD guru Joseph Wire has joined Bexel Broadcast Services, a division of Bexel that provides rental equipment and technical support for outside broadcast events.
Wire is responsible for overseeing corporate development initiatives that will range from providing personal contact to customers in the Northeast U.S., to expanding Bexel's Audio Specialties Group services into sports production and developing solutions that help broadcasters embrace the latest technologies in worldwide live television production.
Prior to joining Bexel, a division of The Vitec Group, Wire spent 11 years at ESPN. In his most recent position, he served as the senior director of HD, playing an integral part in all aspects of ESPN's high-definition services. Previously he served in several roles for ESPN's Remote Operations department.
"Joe brings many great attributes to Bexel", says Craig Schiller, director of Bexel Broadcast Services. "Because he was a Bexel client for many years, he understands what our customers need from a broadcast service company. He knows what it takes to get a live TV show on the air and has a clear understanding of the direction we should take with new equipment technologies."
