IP-Prime Grows Channel Lineup
Forty-six cable networks have been added to IP-Prime, the turnkey IPTV service being launched by SES Americom in Princeton, N.J.
Comcast Networks, Fox Cable Networks, NBC Universal, Showtime Networks, and Turner Broadcasting System joined the lineup, which now features more than 350 channels, according to SES Americom. The announcement was made during NAB2007 in Las Vegas.
Among the networks added are E!, Versus, Style, AZN, G4, PBS Kids Sprout, and The Golf Channel, FX, Fox Sports en Espanol, National Geographic Channel (SD and HD), Speed, Fuel TV, and Fox Movie Channel, CNBC, Bravo, USA Network, SCI FI, Telemundo, Universal HD, Chiller, Sleuth, Showtime, Flix, TMC, CNN, TNT, Cartoon Network, Court TV, TCM, TBS, Headline News and others.
IP-Prime now has transport agreements with more than 40 leading programmers. IP-Prime is currently in beta trials with rural telcos of various size and set for commercial deployment this year.
