InfoComm 2008: Hitachi to Demo Next-Gen HD Cams

Hitachi America will use InfoComm 2008 to showcase its newest duo of high-performance HD cameras for professionals. InfoComm is June 14-18 in Las Vegas.

The SK-HD1000, a next-gen HD studio and field production camera, has been upgraded by Hitachi since its introduction a year ago to offer a 60dB HD signal-to-noise ratio at f10.0 and 1,100-line resolution in a two-piece camera platform to enhance maximum configuration options.

The SK-HD1000 includes high dynamic-range RGB 2/3-inch progressive CCD (each with 2.2 million pixels), 14-bit A-to-D converters, and new digital circuits. And a new Camera Control Unit (model CU-HD1000) will provide users with a choice of fiber or digital triax/coax transmission—as well as an optional cross-converter to convert 1080i to 720p, along with embedded digital audio in the HD-SDI outputs.

Also at InfoComm, Hitachi will show its HV-HD30 camera, which this year includes upgrades in the unit’s digital signal processing and CMOS imaging sensors.
