illbruck Rebrands as pinta

Acoustic panels manufacturer illbruck acoustic has changed its name to pinta acoustic.

The renaming continues the reorganization of the former illbruck GmbH begun in 2004 with the formation of the holding company illbruck elements GmbH, which has been renamed pinta elements. The pinta name is also being applied to the company's interests in foam fabrication, filtration systems, insulation and noise reduction.

pinta acoustic is based in Unterföhring, Germany, with a subsidiary in the United States. Products and management remain the same after the name change, according to the company.

pinta acoustic brands include Sonex baffles, acouSTIC adhesives and Fabritec wall panels.

The name "pinta" comes from the pinta racing deep-sea sailing team created by illbruck founder Willi Illbruck. Illbruck's racing yacht was named Pinta after the fastest of the three ships Columbus skippered on his first voyage across the Atlantic.
