IBC Has Record Attendance

The industry's second largest trade show got a little bigger this year, as IBC reported almost 47,000 attendees at the annual Amsterdam exposition.

A record 46,964 streamed through the doors of the RAI over the five day event, which took place 7–11 September. More than 1,300 exhibits from more than 120 countries accompanied the dozens of sessions, seminars and keynotes, covering everything from digital broadcasting to mobile TV and digital cinema.

IBC organizers were particularly happy with the variety of future-looking technologies covered at the event and noted the evolution of the show over the past several years.

"Five years ago, IBC was mostly a terrestrial broadcast show", said Michael Crimp, IBC acting CEO. "[These new sessions] have shown how far we have come".
