Hewlett Packard launched its HDTV Media Hub at CES in Las Vegas. The hub targets households in need of a centralized storage space for digital content.
The HP Linux-based HDTV Media Hub features an ATSC tuner and gives consumers access to digital photos and music, a combination of TV and video. Also, using the media hub, consumers can combine their pictures with video and music to create a slideshow.
HP expects the hub to be available by fall 2005. An electronic program guide (EPG), music information service and an automated update service will all be part of the package.
