Hofstra University has purchased four new Canon professional broadcast lenses to use at its video training facilities.

Three PJ20x8 BIE, or Super E20, lenses and one J11ax4.5 WRS wide-angle lens will be part of the lesson plan for students of the university's School of Communications, where the curriculum requires broadcast-quality lenses. The Canon Super E20 features the IF Internal Focus system, the Crossover system for 4:3 and 16:9 operation on switchable cameras and a built-in supporter for the lens and camera combination, with applications in news-gathering, entertainment and sports. The J11ax4.5 IRS/IAS features a viewing capability of 101.14 degrees at diagonal in 4:3, and 11x zoom ratio.
