Fujinon to show remote control HD lens

Fujinon's HAs18x7.6MD has improved optical characteristics and all of its lens functions can be accessed and operated completely via remote control.

At the NAB2004 convention, veteran broadcast lens manufacturer Fujinon will show a new HD lens designed specifically for remote control applications, such as sports and robotic studios. With a focal length range of 7.6 to 137mm and a wide angle of view (64.5 degrees at 7.6mm), the new HAs18x7.6MD HD remote control zoom lens will be the lowest priced HD lens in Fujinon’s HD product line and is designed to complement 2/3-inch high-definition video cameras.

The new lightweight lens features 18x magnification and a focal length of 7.6mm to 137mm, enabling it to cover applications from wide angle to telephoto.

The HAs18x7.6MD has improved optical characteristics, such as reduced chromatic aberrations minimized flare and minimized focus breathing. It’s equipped with Fujinon’s exclusive GO- Technology that enables the optimization of all optical components in the composition of the lens. This results in a 20-30 percent improvement in all optical features, according to Fujinon, when compared with conventional lenses without the technology.

The remote control lens also features Inner Focus, a servo module with zoom, focus and iris, and can be interfaced with Fujinon’s studio controls for use in the studio.
