(Feb. 12, 2009) SEATTLE: Fisher Communications has signed up five of its 13 TV stations to become affiliates of This TV, a digital-only network comprised of MGM content. Fisher said This TV has been launched on KATU-DT2 in Portland, Ore. Likewise launches are planned for KOMO-DT2 in Seattle this spring, and in the fall for KVAL-DT2, KCBY-DT2 and KPIC-DT2 serving Eugene, Ore.

This TV, launched by MGM and Chicago’s Weigel Broadcasting, is also being carried by stations that belong to Tribune, Raycom, Sunbeam, Quincy Newspapers and Weigel. The turn-key subchannel network has cleared more than 60 percent of U.S. TV households.

Content includes a selection of 4,100 films and 10,000 hours of TV programming.
