Filmmaker Perry put JVC GY-HD100U to the test for ‘SIXGUN’

Independent film director and producer Scott Perry recently put JVC’s GY-HD100U to the test in the blazing Texas heat to film his independent Western film “SIXGUN.”

Influenced by “Lonesome Dove,” “SIXGUN” is a period 1873 Western filmed on location in Texas.

According to Perry, the GY-HD100U performed without a glitch in 107-degree dusty Texas conditions. Perry shot the movie 12 to 16 hours per day during four weeks in 24p HD. The camera’s simultaneous HD and SD outputs also came in handy for location monitoring, offline mastering and dubbing.
