F&F Productions captures Red Sox championship march with Ikegami HDK-79EC

F&F Productions captured the Boston Red Sox’s run to its second World Series championship in four years at Fenway Park with its GTX-15 mobile production unit equipped with Ikegami HDK-79EC native multiformat CMOS HDTV cameras.

Ikegami’s CMOS technology, which provides reduced power consumption, multiformat HD video capture and high-speed imaging capabilities, was an important factor in F&F’s selection of the HDK-79EC for GTX-15.

The HDK-79EC employs three 2/3in 2.5-megapixel specified CMOS imaging sensors to achieve high picture quality and multiformat HD performance. The camera uses 1920H x 1080V active-pixel CMOS sensors. They are switchable between interlace and progressive readout modes.

The camera can be configured for use with triax or SMPTE fiber cable. Additional system components include the CCU-790A digital camera control unit with built-in broadcast downconverter and the CB-79HD/TA-79HD triax adaptor system.

In addition to its HDK-79ECs, the GTX-15 truck is also equipped with two Ikegami HDL-50 compact full digital HD cameras for POV shots and Ikegami HLM-1710WR and HLM-2200 multiformat HD LCD monitors. The GTX-15 unit was stationed in Boston for all Red Sox home playoff games, including games six and seven of their come-from-behind victory against the Cleveland Indians, and games one and two of their World Series sweep of the Colorado Rockies.
