FCC to Hold White Space Lab Meeting

In the wake of two July 31 reports from the FCC Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) on TV white space devices, OET will hold a meeting on the studies at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16, at the FCC Laboratory in Columbia, Md., between Washington and Baltimore.

The meeting will cover the reports, “Initial Evaluation of the Performance of Prototype TV-Band White Space Devices” and “Direct-Pickup Interference Tests of Three Consumer Digital Cable Television Receivers.”

OET staff will provide an overview of the tests, answer questions and consider suggestions for further testing of the performance of the devices.

Folks interested in attending should RSVP to patrica.goff@fcc.gov and include the sender’s organization and number of people attending, as space at the lab is limited.
