New software gives viewers access to worldwide TV broadcasts
Satellite TV for PC has introduced software that can be downloaded onto a PC desktop or laptop that gives users access to more than 3,000 TV stations worldwide, including U.S., UK, Canadian, Japanese and Russian broadcasters.

There are no monthly or recurring charges, and the software gives users access to live sports, news and movies from all over the world. TV channels are streamed through an Internet connection and can be viewed on computers with a minimum of a 56k connection.

ESPN to employ ‘Full Circle’ coverage for Florida State vs. Miami
ESPN will use its diverse distribution network to present the Labor Day collegiate football game between Florida State and Miami on Sept. 4.

The coverage will mark the third presentation of the Full Circle franchise, in which various coverage approaches to a single event are offered across multiple TV networks, the Internet and cell phones.

ESPN will showcase traditional game coverage on ESPN HD; ESPN2 will offer the game from multiple cameras in a mosaic-style presentation on ESPN2 HD; ESPNU and ESPN360 will present the game from the SkyCam angle with additional statistics during commercial breaks on ESPN360; and ESPN Deportes and ESPN International will offer Spanish-language and worldwide coverage.


Levy assumes role as vice president and creative director
Mark Levy has been promoted to vice president and creative director, NBC Sports & Olympics.

In this new position, Levy will have increased responsibilities. He will serve as creative director for both NBC Sports and Olympics, in charge of the on-air look and image of all NBC Sports and Olympic programming.

He will also continue directing NBC's Olympic Film and Profiles unit and continue oversight of all production and editorial functions of NBC's Stamford, CT, -based HD production facility, and its development arm, The Edison Project.


Weiss to direct media relations for regional networks
Former Turner Broadcasting and Rainbow Media veteran Jim Weiss has been tapped to oversee public relations, communications and media relations for Atlanta-based regional sports networks FSN South and Turner South as director of media relations.


Zigler to lead NBC Digital
NBC has appointed Vivi Zigler to the newly created position of executive vice president, NBC Digital Entertainment & New Media. Zigler will now be responsible for leading the NBC.com digital team in strategic efforts to further connect NBC's prime-time, late-night and daytime programs to the Internet users.
