FamilyMart installs digital signage network in 1500 stores

Taiwan-based retail outlet chain FamilyMart has implemented a large in-store TV network in its 1500 branches throughout the country.

FamilyMart, an international convenience store brand originally from Japan, decided to adopt in-store digital signage in its high-density outlets in Taiwan. The network is based on a solution from Cayin Technology.

Approximately 3000 screens have been rolled out in the 1500 FamilyMart stores this year, with local partners getting involved with the project team in many of these areas. Cayin Technology is providing several services including server hosting, content update, playlist management, live system monitoring and complete reporting of the system and playback details.

Content on the screen includes daily news, commercial videos, life information, ticker text (RSS feeds and promotional messages) and various Flash banners. Most stores installed two 32in LCD displays, one in store for the shoppers and the other behind the store window for the pedestrians outside.
