Evertz provides timing, JPEG-2000 compression equipment for 3-D NBA finals game

Evertz Technologies timing and JPEG-2000 transmission equipment was used to deliver the Cleveland Cavaliers and NBA’s “Cavaliers 3-D HD Experience” shot with PACE Fusion 3D cameras.

While the second game of the NBA Finals was being played in San Antonio, 14,000 Cavaliers fans at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland were able to experience the excitement of watching the game in 3-D.

PACE selected Evertz to provide the sync generators, distribution amplifiers and new JPEG-2000 compression equipment needed for timing used in the 3-D HD technology. Working in conjunction with Bexel Broadcast Services, Evertz equipment successfully managed two streams of information and delivered a perfectly synced 3-D viewing experience to Cavaliers fans.
