International Formula Master auto races, the North American equivalent of NASCAR, is being produced for the first time entirely in HD this season by officially sanctioned broadcaster Eurosport.
Technically, the car races are to be covered live on Eurosport’s pan-European channel by deploying an array of specially mounted HD cameras (both track-side and side-mounted), using newly developed DTV remote trucks and other facilities.
Despite what some European Web sites cite are rumors of financial difficulties for the racing industry that could lead to possible postponing or canceling of some events in the near future, International Formula Master said its current schedule is secure for the future. It cites partnerships with the FIA World Touring Car Championship and Eurosport, which it says have been confirmed at least until 2012.
