Sales of DTV products increased 10 percent in August 2004, compared to the same month a year ago, according to figures released by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).
For August, 328,838 units were sold. Dollar sales reached $479 million, up seven percent from August '03. Year-to-date unit sales were 2.38 million and dollar sales reached $3.3 billion.
CEA is hosting HDTV meetings around the U.S. to talk about the digital transition and to address issues such as consumer awareness.
The first meeting was held in Chicago on Sept. 27. Future meetings will be held in Newark, NJ on Oct. 5, San Francisco, Oct. 20, Los Angeles, Oct. 21, and New York City on Nov. 10.
