DNF & Sony Add Interface, Features to DDRs

DNF Controls is now offering control and interface solutions for professional video editors who use Sony's MAV-555A and the MAV-777 multiaccess digital video disk recorders.

DNF and Sony created a new integrated control system where DNF's 4000CL Production Switcher Interface is able to cue, roll, and re-cue individual video segments stored on the DDRs and link them to production controls on Sony's MVS switcher.

The system provides one-button control of transitions, complex openings and preprogrammed timeline elements. Production switchers can directly control the Sony DDR with DNF's production switcher interface. Graphics and animations stored on multiple channels can be played out simultaneously. Users can incorporate effects, slow motion, the ability to manage clips and other features.

Other features include:
* MPEG-2 compression;
* Support for the 4:2:2 VTR protocol;
* Flexible I/O with available SDI and analog I/O cards;
* Asynchronous file transfer.
