Discreet releases advances in its fire and smoke editing/finishing systems

Discreet has unveiled new platform support and versions of its nonlinear editing and finishing systems, fire 6 and smoke 6, which will make their debut at IBC2003.
Discreet's editing systems are used in 2K film, HDTV and SD post production, and the new version 6 releases will add new flexibility to the digital intermediate process.
The fire 6 and smoke 6 releases will feature the ability to work at any resolution at any time and to mix resolutions within projects and timelines.
The fire 6 and smoke 6 releases will be available on several new platforms, including SGI Onyx 350 for fire 6 and SGI Tezro, IBM Intellistation Zpro 6221 and Linux workstation for smoke 6.
The fire 6 and smoke 6 releases offer a wide range of new creative features, including Discreet's next generation Master Keyer; integration of Discreet's Colour Warper technology; advanced 3D capabilities; the ability to import 3D models via FBX; and media management and archiving tools.
