Digital signage lit up the influential World Economic Forum's annual meeting, held Jan. 21-25 in Davos, Switzerland.

Modernlight Event Management and Production GmbH of Berne, Switzerland, deployed a digital signage network to narrowcast multimedia conference information in real-time to 28 plasma screens located around the World Economic Forum.

The signage network utilized the CAT5 Audio Video Display System from Minicom Advanced Systems, Jerusalem, Israel.

In partnership with Rotronic of Bassersdorf, Switzerland, Minicom was also recently selected to deploy digital signage systems in all branches of the Federal Post Office of Switzerland.

"The Federal Post Office particularly liked the ability of our [video display] systems to display real-time information to multiple screens, making it available to the general public," according to Eran Kessel, Minicom's marketing director. "We have recently completed a number of successful installations of our video display systems in places such as night clubs, bars, shopping malls, supermarkets, and exhibition malls. We are definitely seeing a growing demand for digital signage solutions in these typical main-street environments."
