It recently expanded its product line and market strategy to offer best-of-breed solutions from the industry’s top vendors in encoding, decoding, streaming, VOD, mobile and satellite delivery of MPEG-1, MPEG2, H.264, HD, and WM9. "DG2L is a leader in developing digital media distribution, delivery and playback solutions," said Ankur Sheth, CEO of DG2L. "The acquisition of iVAST allows us to penetrate the market rapidly on a worldwide scale, taking advantage of iVAST International’s extensive channel and customer base. The acquisition of iVAST Inc.’s technology allows us to continue to support and generate revenue from the existing iVAST customer base, while expanding the market with a more comprehensive and complete digital media product lineup."
Ben Silva, president of iVAST International, joins DG2L as executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, including new business development. "Our channel partners and end users alike were asking for a complete end-to-end solution that could accommodate any media format, across a range of bit rates, and be scalable to deliver over any network type, from small to large deployments," said Silva. "We needed the flexibility to receive a request from a customer and be able to confidently say, ‘yes we can,’ regardless of the media format or network delivery platform."
