Datacine Group turns to Nextamp for watermarking protection

Datacine Group has equipped its SCANLAB digital lab with Nextamp systems to secure HD and SD digital master copies.

This new content protection service relies on the video watermarking solution provided by Nextamp to fight against movie piracy.

The individual master copies and browsing versions of a movie can now contain this invisible digital watermark to dissuade recipients from pirating content. Unique watermark data is embedded in the essence of the images. The invisible stamp is robust to compression and resolution changes that can be retrieved from pirate samples.

Watermarking is a unique protection technique for the circulation of digital content prior to theatrical release or DVD edition. The invisible individual ID is embedded in either SD or HD formats. SCANLAB can deliver the content on tape (Beta, D5, HDCAM-SR), as compressed files (MPEG, WMV) or non-compressed files (Targa, DPX, Cineon).
