Crawford adds more automated graphics systems to broadcast operations

Atlanta-based Crawford Communications has added 10 DekoCast graphics systems from Avid Technology for its TV network services. The new systems are integrated with Crawford’s ENCOMPASS tapeless production and playout service, automating the delivery of station branding and customized content for local viewing audiences.

Crawford now has 23 DekoCast systems that are delivering content to networks throughout Latin America.

The DekoCast systems allow Crawford’s broadcast users to work remotely to build, manage and deliver graphics content to their networks using Crawford’s network distribution infrastructure.

Users looking to insert simple, static logos can easily update playlists by supplying new images and adding DekoCast triggers. More than half of Crawford’s clients, however, have developed more sophisticated graphics templates. As a result, many remote stations have installed a DekoCast system within their own facilities to develop graphics in-house before uploading the files as a complete package to the ENCOMPASS system for transmission.
