Cox chooses N2 Broadband for VOD metadata

N2 Broadband, a provider of scalable, on-demand video services, announced that Cox Communications has selected its MediaPoint Asset Management System (AMS) to support its existing video-on-demand (VOD) markets.

The MediaPoint AMS system will be used for its automated content staging and management capabilities, making it part of Cox’s standard VOD configuration. The system will automatically validate and correct metadata based on user-defined rules.

Cox’s VOD service, branded Entertainment on Demand (EOD), gives subscribers access to hundreds of movies and allows them to control the content using VCR-like functionality, such as pause, fast-forward and rewind.

N2 Broadband’s MediaPoint AMS enables cable operators to efficiently receive content from multiple sources, verify that the content received meets requirements, automatically correct errors, and stage and store content until served to subscribers.
