The FCC announced the agenda for the Digital Television Consumer Education Workshop set for Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the FCC Headquarters in Washington D.C. The workshop includes representatives from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, the government organization administering the set-top box coupon program; the Consumer Electronics Association, the National Cable Television Association; the National Association of Broadcasters; the Association of Public Television Stations; the Consumer Federation of America and several other consumer organizations, including groups representing specific ethnic groups in the United States.
Topics covered at the workshop include:
- What Are the Government’s and Industry’s Roles in Facilitating the DTV Transition?
- Consumer Interest and Advocacy Group Roundtable Part 1
- Consumer Interest and Advocacy Group Roundtable Part 2 (Specific Populations)
There will also be technical demonstrations of converter box use, digital television receivers and comparison of digital and analog television reception.
