Comcast extends license for Microsoft TV software
By TVTechnology published
Comcast Cable and Microsoft have announced an agreement that extends their existing relationship and gives Comcast the ability to make Microsoft TV Foundation Edition 1.7 software available to up to 5 million customers. The agreement has an option that allows Comcast to expand the roll-out at a later date.
Microsoft's Foundation Edition is designed to work across a range of set-top boxes (STBs), from legacy models currently in service to advanced STBs that enable new services, including dual-tuner DVR, VOD, HDTV, games and more. The software also supports dual-tuner DVRs and HDTV capabilities in Motorola's new DCT 6412 STB.
