Comcast Chair Joins 2008 CES Keynote Lineup

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced that Brian L. Roberts, chairman and CEO of Comcast Corp., will join its lineup of keynote speakers at the 2008 International CES. The event, which marks Comcast’s first CES keynote, is scheduled for day two of the show, Tuesday, January 8, at 9 a.m.

Owned and produced by CEA, the 2008 International CES consumer technology tradeshow will return to Las Vegas Jan. 7-10, 2008. The keynote lineup also includes top executives from Microsoft, Panasonic, Intel and GM.

“Brian Roberts has been instrumental in the growth and development of the cable and telecommunications industries, and we look forward to hearing his vision for the expansion of the home network,” said Gary Shapiro, CEA president and CEO.

Under Roberts’ direction, Comcast has grown into a Fortune 100 company with $25 billion in revenues in 2006, 24.1 million customers and 90,000 employees. Roberts also chairs the board of directors of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association. In October 2006, Roberts was inducted into the Cable Television Hall of Fame, and in May 2007, he was presented with the cable industry’s highest honor, the Distinguished Vanguard Award for Leadership.
