Comcast Announces New Headquarters

Comcast Corp. the nation's largest provider of cable and broadband services, announced plans to build a 57-story building to house its administrative and R&D in Philadelphia

Housing 1,900 company employees, the building will tower over the Philly skyline; Comcast plans to occupy 24 of its 57 floors.

"Our new headquarters will … include new technology research and development labs, technology demonstration areas, training space for our employees and a new headquarters for Comcast University," said Brian L. Roberts, Comcast's chairman and CEO.

Comcast also operates Comcast SportsNet, E! Entertainment Television, Style Network, The Golf Channel and Outdoor Life Network. With deep roots in the city, Comcast is the majority owner of the Philadelphia Flyers NHL team and the Philadelphia 76ers NBA team.

The company expects to occupy the new building late in 2007.
