Chyron Partners With Octopus Newsroom

Chyron Corp. has established a technology partnership with Octopus Newsroom. This alliance further expands integration of Chyron’s CAMIO complete news graphics management solution with the addition of the Octopus Newsroom System, providing journalists control over the look and delivery of newsroom graphics.

The CAMIO graphic management architecture enables a broadcaster’s graphics department to build and upload assets once, and be instantly available to all output devices as well as newsroom clients. LUCI, CAMIO’s Newsroom Client ActiveX, enables journalists to remotely browse templates, edit text and replaceable images and movie files, preview their graphics and insert them into stories directly from within the Octopus newsroom.

CAMIO manages the distribution of assets ensuring that all assets are available for air. Play-out is simplified with Chyron’s Lyric playlist control, or using iSQ, Chyron’s Intelligent Sequencer software. The order of graphics for play-out is always synchronized with the Octopus Newsroom Computer System running order as it changes with floats and edits.

“The Octopus Newsroom System is a popular choice across Europe and with this integration we look forward to bringing the creative flexibility and speed to air that CAMIO provides to the Octopus user base,” David Ward, vice president and general manager of Chyron EAME said.

Octopus Newsroom has offices in London and Prague, Czech Republic.
