By TVTechnology published
Turner Broadcasting System and Charter Communications have come to an agreement where TNT shows will be carried in HD on all of the MSO's systems. Rollouts in Charter's largest markets will take place over the next several months. Charter currently carries 13 HD channels, including ESPN, Discovery HD, HBO, Starz and Cinemax. According to its and Web site , Charter serves nearly 6.6 million analog customers (no digital numbers available) in a few dozen mostly medium and small markets--although it also serves Los Angeles, Dallas, Boston, Atlanta and the Twin Cities.
Most of TNT's weekend fare consists of movies. On weekdays, it airs a steady diet of syndicated programs such as "Law and Order," "NYPD Blue" and "Crossing Jordan." TNT already is carried in HD via Time Warner Cable and the DISH Network.
